NGO

The press release “Government misses opportunity to protect children in custody”, was published on 15th December 2008 by Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE), the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children (NSPCC) and a charity providing free advice service to bereaved people on contentious deaths and their investigation with a particular focus on deaths in custody (INQUEST). It denounces the ignorance by the British Government of its human rights obligations towards children in security training centres (STCs). The document provides some statistics on violence against children in conflict with the law in the UK. Available in English only. PDF, 4 pages.
