ActionAid/ RPOWAB - Under-Aged Prison Inmates in Bangladesh (November 2008) - 27 March 2009
NGO

The report "Under-Aged Prison Inmates in Bangladesh: a Sample Situation of Youthful Offenders in Greater Dakha" was published by ActionAid Bangladesh and the Retired Police Officers Welfare Association Bangladesh (RPOWAB) in November 2008. It is based on a former study, conducted in 2003, aimed principally at identifying children below the minimum age of criminal responsibility that are deprived of their liberty. The current report aims to update the previous study by finding out what are the actual conditions of deprivation of liberty in prisons and Correction Homes. It also suggests recommendations for the improvement of conditions of deprivation of liberty, recommends improvement in the Juvenile Criminal Justice System and provides ten case studies. Available in English. PDF, 97 pages.
